Jason Keighley
Digital Pathology AI Scientist
NPIC AI Research Team
Jason is a Digital Pathology AI Scientist working on the development and analysis of foundation models, generative AI and latent space embedding networks, aiming towards the creation of safe and effective Digital Pathology AI systems for deployment into the NHS after robust evaluation. He also creates research tools for NPIC, including extraction and visualization tools for use by both researchers and clinicians. Jason’s areas of interest include the use of techniques to reduce input data, creating more efficient downstream analysis within digital pathology; the use of generative models for generation of pathology images including text linkage; and state of the art foundation model analysis and validation within Digital Pathology workflows.
Jason undertook a PhD at the University of Leeds, which focused on Variational Autoencoder use within Whole Slide Image compression, classification and generation. Previously to this, Jason completed a BSc Computer Forensics and Security (Hons) at Leeds Beckett university, and an MSc Computer Science at the University of Leeds.
