Catriona is a postdoctoral researcher working in the Quality Co-ordination Centre (QCC) in NPIC, where they are undertaking research, development and assessment of novel quality tools for digital pathology, with the aim of improving standardisation and AI utilisation. Catriona’s main focus is on stain variation in pathology, and the development of technologies for H&E quantification.  

She previously worked in the University of Leeds (Leeds Institute for Medical Research at St James’) as a research technician, alongside undertaking her PhD from 2019 – 2023, where she developed Tango stain assessment slides for H&E quantification and assessed their utility in clinical practice.
